Abstract Building Information Modeling (BIM) is now a topical issue in the construction industry, particularly in the design. It has talked about being able to simulate a structure in every detail, that all the information you ever needed to be included in a single 3D model. An evolution is about to happen.

The developed model is applied via case studies within a large industrial setting where similar projects are evaluated, some implementing BIM and some with traditional, non-BIM approaches. ABSTRACT Over the past few decades, major advances have occurred in computer technology to optimize technical solutions. BIM is more than drawings it has played a major role in building design and modelling, construction and maintenance information. Thus, BIM established itself as an BIM is a way of structuring information digitally for use in design, construction maintenance and management of building & other facilities. BIM creates a digital knowledge resource shared by different project participants at any stage, forming a reliable basis for decisions. Abstract This work thesis aims to explore the potentialities of BIM technology (Building Information Modeling) applied to management and maintenance procedures of pre-existent buildings, more specifically, heritage buildings.

Traditionally, BIM has been used as a design tool to give architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) professionals insight into the design and construction of buildings and infrastructure.

Abstract: An inside look at how building information modeling (BIM) technology can help visualize project success on the world’s largest projects. Through revolutionary technology, owners and contractors can envision project success from design to construction, while project managers can aggregate model data and quickly react to changes in real time. 2015-10-15 Keywords : Building information modelling, BIM, Barriers, BIM adoption Abstract The AEC-industry has been lagging behind other types of production industries in terms of productivity development for the last 40 years. The reason for this has been described as to be a combination of the BIM is a collaboratively generated and maintained, data rich, information source for the life of the design process and beyond. In this paper, we present briefly the greatest value derived from BIM Building Information Modeling (BIM) is the process and practice of virtual design and construction throughout its lifecycle. It is a platform to share knowledge and communicate between project participants.

Previous research has identified a gap in contractual relationships, roles and resulting risks. 2017-01-25 ABSTRACT Building Information Modeling (BIM) has been widely studied in recent years. Most of these studies are dedicated to understanding the application of BIM to solve specific problems (e.g. clash detection and 4D simulation).

The main actors within the field agree that regulations for BIM-models in planning, production and maintenance are needed.

Building sector has made more progress than the civil engineering sector but it is difficult to compare the two sides because the condition at the civil engineering side varies from project to project. Abstract Building Information Modeling “BIM” is becoming a better known established collaboration process in the construction industry.

BIM had a positive impact on semiconductor manufacturing construction. A framework for measurement of BIM's impact is developed. Abstract This work thesis aims to explore the potentialities of BIM technology (Building Information Modeling) applied to management and maintenance procedures of pre-existent buildings, more specifically, heritage buildings.

From the literature, a framework calculation model to determine the value of BIM is developed and presented. The developed model is applied via case studies within a large industrial setting where similar projects are evaluated, some implementing BIM and some with traditional, non-BIM approaches.
